First Annual Jestina Croute Foundation Scholarship Recipient
Joshua Wells is the son of Alvin and Amanda Wells, Jr. and resides in Pineville, LA.
Joshua is a senior at Pineville High School (PHS) where he has maintained a 4.2 GPA, and is a dual enrollment student at Northwestern State University where he will receive his Associate’s Degree along with his high school diploma from Pineville High School on May 12, 2023.
He is a member of the National Honors Club and Mu Alpha Theta Honors Math Club.
He attends Zion Hill Church in Pineville, Louisiana where he serves as youth usher, assist the parking lot ministry for special events and attend weekly bible study. He volunteers at the Manna House, annual USDA Fishing Derby events and tutors high school students. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, playing video games and hanging out with my family.
Joshua has been accepted into 21 colleges/universities with scholarships totaling $1.4M!!!!!!
Joshua will be attending Tuskegee University in the fall and will major in Mechanical Engineering. His career goals are to obtain an internship in Mechanical Engineering and to land a job at a reputable company. He wants to innovate and design objects that can be used to make the world a better place.
Vanity
First Annual Pearlie Tanner Jones Foundation Scholarship Recipient
Vanity is the daughter of Rayford Hayward, Jr. and Dr. Yoshika Croute. She has one son, Tyson Porter. Currently, she resides in Atlanta, Georgia and has followed in the footsteps of her Great Grandmother (Jestina Croute) and Great Grandmother (Pearlie Tanner Jones) and works in the medical field as a Registered Nurse.
Vanity attended Bunkie High School and attended Southwest Mississippi College. Throughout high school and college Vanity excelled and received multiple accolades. She graduated at the top of her class, was in the gifted program, and was Student of the Year for her school and parish (Elementary, Middle, and High School Years).
She is currently employed at Grady Hospital in Nursing Management and is enrolled at McNeese State University. She is pursuing her RN to MSN Degree and currently maintains a 3.6 GPA.
